Although a Junior Heavyweight, his primary focus is on a power-based fighting style that utilizes his physique and muscle strength. He possesses a deep arsenal of moves, including high-flying maneuvers like the "Stuka Splash," striking techniques such as the "Trance Rave" and "Thrust Kick," and power slams like the "Michinoku Driver." His signature traits are his toughness and strong ability to withstand opponents' attacks before mounting a counter-offense. He joined KAIENTAI-DOJO in 2000 and made his debut in November. He subsequently wrestled for various promotions as a freelancer. He became a regular participant in Pro-Wrestling NOAH starting in December 2016. In February 2017, he captured the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship with Taiji Ishimori. He officially joined NOAH on July 1st. In April 2018, he participated in and won the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Decision Tournament with Minoru Tanaka. In 2019, he joined the rebellious unit Kongo and changed his ring name from Hi69 to Nioh. In April 2022, he lost a Loser Must Change Ring Name & Hair Cut Match against Hao at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan event, resulting in his ring name reverting to Hi69. In 2023, he left Kongo following a singles match against Kenoh. In January 2024, he formed "TEAM NOAH" with Go Shiozaki, Mohammed Yone, Akitoshi Saito, and Atsushi Kotoge. While pursuing this new path, he took a long-term absence starting in August to receive treatment for a chronic condition. He made his return after a year and three months at the Sendai event on November 21, 2025. His fighting spirit was intact, earning him the cheers of fans who had awaited his return. On November 29, at the "TEAM NOAH JUDGMENT" show, he, Yone, Kotoge, and Ohara announced their intention to continue "TEAM NOAH."
