A veteran fighter who leverages his powerful physique for strikes like the lariat and throws like the Muscle Buster, but also has a hidden arsenal of submission holds learned in the Fujiwara-gumi dojo. His trademark is a gutsy, hard-hitting “Bachi-Bachi fight” style forged in Fujiwara-gumi and Battlarts, but he never forgets to hype up the crowd with his “funky” side. 1995 He joined Professional Wrestling Fujiwara-gumi, debuting in August against Alexander Otsuka. 1996 He joined Kakuto Tanteidan Battlarts and changed his ring name to Mohammed Yone. 2001 He began competing in All Japan Pro Wrestling as a freelancer, and later, in Pro Wrestling NOAH. 2002 He officially joined Pro Wrestling NOAH. 2005 He won the GHC Openweight Championship from Naomichi Marufuji on March 5 at Nippon Budokan. 2017 He and Quiet Storm won the GHC Tag Team Championship as 50 Funky Powers on October 1 at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium. 2020 He held his 25th-anniversary show, “DISCO BALL,” at Korakuen Hall. 2021 He formed Funky Express with Shuhei Taniguchi. Later, after a "loser unit absorption match," Akitoshi Saito and Masao Inoue from the Anti-Wrestlers Association joined the unit. 2024 In January, he formed TEAM NOAH with Go Shiozaki, Akitoshi Saito, Atsushi Kotoge, and Hi69. 2025 He will hold his 30th-anniversary show, "DISCO BALL," at Korakuen Hall in August.
