He first competed in DDT at a Kyoto event in June 2019. He formed CDK (Calamari Drunken Kings) with Masahiro Takanashi and entered the tag team division. In July, he had his first challenge for the KO-D Openweight Championship at Korakuen Hall, and he performed well in the D-Oh Grand Prix 2020, tying for first place in Block A. In January 2020, he announced that he would be moving to Japan. Although the COVID-19 pandemic hit soon after, he chose to remain in Japan to continue his career. In July 2023, he finally achieved a long-held goal by winning the KO-D Openweight Championship for the first time at the Ryogoku Kokugikan event. After losing the title to Yuki Ueno in November, he formed the unit SCHADENFREUDE International with Masahiro Takanashi, Antonio Honda, and Soshi Shoda. As the leader of the unit, he guided them to success, and in November 2024, he defeated Shinya Aoki to win the KO-D Openweight Championship for the second time.
