He was an accomplished amateur wrestler in high school and university before joining Kensuke Office and debuting in his hometown of Toyama. He signed with Pro-Wrestling NOAH in April 2014, following the halt of DIAMOND RING's activities. In April 2016, he changed his ring name from Mitsuhiro Kitamiya to Masa Kitamiya, inheriting the spirit of Masa Saito. He achieved his first GHC Tag Team Championship win with Kenoh in 2017. He later captured the title again in 2018 with Katsuhiko Nakajima as part of "The Aggression." After the team's dissolution, he joined and subsequently left the stable Kongo; his long-running feud with Nakajima became a major focus within the promotion. In 2023, he secured the GHC Tag Team Championship with Daiki Inaba and challenged for the GHC National Championship, making a strong statement. In May 2024, he challenged GHC Heavyweight Champion Kaito Kiyomiya with a powerful offense based on strikes and throws, but was unsuccessful. In March 2025, he made his eighth unsuccessful challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Championship against OZAWA. After a loss in June, he took a temporary hiatus to "reflect on himself." However, in August, he made a shocking return as the "Chairman" of TEAM2000X. He captured the GHC Tag Team Championship with Takashi Sugiura at the Kawasaki event, boldly declaring himself "the rule of NOAH and the Wrestlers' Association Chairman." In September, he leveraged his skill, TEAM2000X interference, and the techniques of his former mentor to sweep and win the "N-1 VICTORY 2025" tournament. Known for his undeniable strength, he was once considered the "Gatekeeper of NOAH," a benchmark for all wrestlers. Now, as the "Chairman of TEAM2000X," he has intensified his presence by blending his strict fighting style with an "Evil Charisma."
